- Red and
Isabelle's marriage certificate, Oct. 11, 1920
(Note that the spelling of Isabelle's name is both
with and without the 'e' on the end. The spelling on
her tombstone is without the 'e', and that is how I
initially spelled it on this web site. However, some
old mortgage documents with her signature show it
spelled with an 'e' on the end. While in Iowa
for the reunion I checked birth records at the court
house. The book had a completely different
spelling--'Isabel'. She spelled it both with and
without an 'e' in correspondence to me, but with two
'l's. So, what it boils down to is that there is
no definitive spelling.)
