Civil Marriage: Stephen Toussaint and Catharine Reuter 29 Oct 1812

L'an mil huit cent quatre vingt onze, comme conte du Régistre de bateime de la udevant Parisse de Bullenge, fille legitime de Nicolas Reuter ici present et consentant au Mariage de sa fille et d'Elisabethe Doeman.

Lesquels nous ont réquis de proceder à la Celebration du Mariage projété entre eux, et dont les Publications ont été faites pendant deux Dimanches consecutifs scavoir le dix huit, et le vingt cinq de ce moise et affiché par Extract au lieu accoutumé pendant Intervalle voulu par la Loi.

Aucune Opposition ne nous ayant été significé au dit Mariage faisant Droit à leur Réquisition, et après avoir donné lecture de touts les Pieces à-dessons mentionées, ainsi que du Chapitre six de Code Civil initalé au Mariage, avons demandé au futur époux, et à la future épouse, s'ils veulant se prendre pour mari et pour femme, chacun deux aÿant répondu séparement, et affirmativement avons declaré au Nom de la Loi que les dites Etienne Toussaint, et Marie Catherine Reuter sont unis par le Mariage - De quoi avons dressé Acte en Présence de Joseph Reistorff Ardoisier de Profession demeurant à Saint Vith, agé de trente deux ans, de Nicolas Girten agé de cinquente huit ans, de Gerard Remÿ, agé de ving un ans, et de Matheau Bruck agé de vingt neuf ans, les trois derniene demeurans au dit Bullenge, et ont signé après lecture faite, la mère du Conjoint declare de ne savoir signee.

1891, as the registry of baptism lists for the udevant parish of Bullenge, legitimate daughter of Nicolas Reuter here present and consenting to the marriage of his daughter and Elisabethe Doeman.

Which have required us to proceed to the celebration of Marriage projected between them, and whose banns were made during two consecutive Sundays namely the 18th and 25th of this month and posted by extract on the usual place during interval desired by the Act.

There not having been any opposition means that they have the right to their request, and after having done the reading of all the parts mentioned, as well as Chapter Six of the Civil Code to begin marriage, we have asked separately the groom and the bride, if they are willing to take themselves for husband and wife, and each of the two responded separately and affirmatively, and we have declared in the name of the Law that the said Etienne [Stephen] Toussaint and Marie Catherine Reuter are united by the Marriage - of which we have drawn up the Act in the presence of Joseph Reistorff, slate man by profession, residing at St. Vith, age 32, of Nicolas Girten age 58, of Gerard Remy, 21, and Matheau Bruck, 29, the three last residing in said Bullenge, and have signed the document having been read to them, the mother of spouse declared that she does not to know how to sign.
