1813, 7 October at 10 before noon, before me Guillaume
Schmit, named special commissioner for completing the
functions of mayor and officer for vital records of the
community of Bullenge, appeared Ettienne Toussaint, 29,
living in Murrenge, who showed me a female infant
born at this location yesterday, at eight in the
evening, to him the declarer & Marie Catherine Reuter
his wife & to whom he said to want to give the name of
Marie Catherine.
The said Declarations and Presentations done in the presence of Jean Tousten, 41, & of Nicolas Girten, 58, both of whom live in Bullenge, and have signed after the reading was done.
[The two highlighted words appear to be either errors on the
part of the writer or bygone usage, but both are overwritten.
The first, hiyr, means yesterday, and the French word is
actually hier. The other word, Dait, should be huit, meaning
eight. The translation agrees with what the baptismal record
says.]
